Job summary

Imerys is seeking an Automation - Instrumentation/Electrical Engineer to lead instrumentation, electrical and automation maintenance and engineering tasks in support of operating plants. The role includes supervising the I/E group daily, managing procedures, and coordinating design, testing and implementation of control systems.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in engineering or sciences with 2+ years of experience (or 5 years in a related field) and have a strong PLC/controls background, plus

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; plus 2 years experience
Equivalent combination of education, training and 5 years related experience
Strong PLC control systems background required

Responsibilities

Design, specification, programming, simulation, testing and start-up support for automation and controls systems.
Oversee maintenance and calibration of electrical and instrument systems; supervise I/E activities.
Develop power distribution, grounding, lighting and control system designs; review vendor submittals.
Conduct system calculations for power, motor starting, voltage drop and short circuits.
Prepare schedules, manage budgets, and optimize energy consumption and plant performance.
