Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist for Starlink assembly manufacturing. You will build, install, and commission automation assets, panels, and electromechanical systems to improve reliability of production assets.

Responsibilities include wiring, commissioning, and validating control systems, and developing PLC/HMI software across Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens TIA, and Allen-Bradley RSLogix. 2+ years in manufacturing and strong problem-solving required.

Qualifications

2+ years in manufacturing environment with electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science
Experience in fault finding and problem resolution
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of NFPA codes and electrical safety standards

Responsibilities

Create, redline, modify electrical and pneumatic schematics using EPLAN and Visio
Wire, commission, and validate electro-mechanical control systems
Build control panels to NFPA 79 & UL 508A standards
Design and commission PLC/HMI software applications
Interpret logic for Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens TIA, and AB RSLogix
Troubleshoot PLC/HMI software and hardware
Procure components and hardware for controls solutions
Develop improvements for production assets
Promote 5S in workspace
Read system-level schematics across mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic
