Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking an experienced Master Technician in Gretna, LA. The role focuses on diagnosing drivability, A/C and electrical systems while mentoring staff to deliver superior customer service.

Responsibilities include performing complex repairs, explaining issues to customers, and staying current with automotive tech through training. A strong leader with ASE credentials is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 8+ ASE certifications preferred (A1–A8).
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Lead a shop team to improve customer care and service quality.
• Pursue ongoing training to stay current with automotive technology.
• Maintain an organized shop and adhere to safety rules.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

5+ years of automotive diagnosis & repair experience
