Job summary

UFW Foundation in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Supervising Attorney for Workers' Rights to help build a new program and lead a regional team of attorneys. This is a full-time hybrid role, with 2–3 days onsite and the rest remote.

You will oversee casework on wage theft and labor protections, design program protocols, and build partnerships with worker centers while mentoring staff and coordinating with leadership. At least 3 years in workers’ rights and active CA bar membership are required.

Qualifications

• Active California bar membership required.
• Minimum 3 years of workers’ rights experience; 5 years preferred.
• Functional bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English for client intake and options explanation.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a docket of wage theft and labor-related cases and filings.
• Design and operationalize protocols for a new legal services program.
• Supervise and mentor a regional team of attorneys and staff.
• Build and strengthen partnerships with worker centers and nonprofit partners.
