Job summary

Mobilization for Justice, Inc. seeks a Supervising Attorney for its Homeownership Preservation Practice in New York, NY.

You will oversee five attorneys and supervise all phases of litigation, from intake through appeals, while guiding strategy and ensuring high-quality representation for homeowners. You will lead foreclosure defense, deed theft and borrower protection efforts, engage with coalitions, advocate for policy change, and mentor staff in a hybrid in-office/remote setting.

Qualifications

• Litigation experience in foreclosure actions, deed theft, and state/federal consumer/homeowner protection statutes.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills to supervise attorneys.
• Effective advocacy and external-relations abilities with partners and government entities.
• Excellent practice management: organize, supervise, and balance caseloads.
• Deep public-service commitment and integrity in decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee attorneys' intake, legal research and writing, and all phases of litigation.
• Mentor attorneys and foster a collaborative team culture.
• Represent MFJ in coalitions, funders, court officials, and other stakeholders.
• Identify issues for impact litigation or policy initiatives and supervise efforts.
