Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a Lead Associate, School Age Programs to help expand and strengthen our California portfolio. You will train and support partners, monitor implementation, and collaborate with state and national teams to improve outcomes for children.

The role involves travel across Central and Southern California, balancing on-site and remote work, with a focus on literacy and math program delivery and strong cross‑sector collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience delivering literacy/reading and/or math/numeracy primary education programs.
• Residency in Central or Southern California.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Central and/or Southern California up to 60% of the time
• Working knowledge of financial and subgrant management
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel)
• Proficient spoken and written English
• Ability to communicate and collaborate across levels and teams
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging

Responsibilities

• Guide and support program staff to ensure quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of program models.
• Provide in-person and remote training and technical assistance for program staff; maximize use of technology.
• Visit assigned sites to observe, coach, and mentor; travel throughout Central and/or Southern California for site visits.
• Ensure accurate data collection and reporting for assigned sites.
• Consult with National Advisors about program questions and challenges.
• Communicate with the Assistant State Director and National Advisors about implementation successes and challenges.
