Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Hattiesburg, MS seeks a shift supervisor to lead hourly workers in a production area and ensure safety and efficiency.

You will train staff, answer questions, and coordinate daily operations while following NCC Animal Welfare guidelines and applicable laws. Responsibilities include supervision, process improvements, and maintaining clean, safe work areas.

• Direct the work of others and is a “go-to” for questions and concerns in relation to task performance in the absence of supervisor or superintendent at their direction.
• Understand and train/cross-train incoming or current associates on new process or skill as needed.
• Search for and present ideas to leadership for process improvements.
• Ensure area is clean and sanitary around assigned line.
• Perform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

Entry through 4 years of Employment = $23.70

5 years through 9 years of Employment = $23.95

Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs


• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Stand up to 8 hours


• Lift up to 60 lbs


• Work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)


• Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipment


• Ability to lift 10 lbs repeatedly and climb steps


• Ability to frequently kneel, crawl, stoop, and bend


• Work around raw, live animal odors
