  • Direct the work of others and be a go-to for questions about task performance in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Train/cross-train incoming or current associates on new processes or skills as needed.
  • Identify and present ideas to leadership for process improvements.
  • Ensure the area is clean and sanitary around the assigned line.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Ranges
  • Entry through 4 years of Employment = $23.70
  • 5 years through 9 years of Employment = $23.95
  • 10 years through 14 years of Employment = $24.20
  • 15 years through 19 years of Employment = $24.45
  • 20 plus years of Employment = $24.70
Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for performing all functions of assigned area and providing guidance and leadership to hourly associates; understands and trains on all positions within assigned area. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Independently provide leadership and guidance to hourly associates in assigned area
  • Perform all functions in assigned area, back up or fill in for absent associates as needed
  • Direct the work of others and is a "go-to" for questions and concerns in relation to task performance in the absence of supervisor or superintendent at their direction
  • Understand and train/cross-train incoming or current associates on new process or skill as needed
  • Search for and present ideas to leadership for process improvements
  • Ensure area is clean and sanitary around assigned line
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education And Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
Experience And Skills
  • Ability to perform one or more functions of assigned area processes
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
  • Basic math skills and computer skills
Safety Requirements
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
Physical Requirements
  • Stand up to 8 hours
  • Lift up to 60 lbs
  • Work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
  • Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipment
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs repeatedly and climb steps
  • Ability to frequently kneel, crawl, stoop, and bend
  • Work around raw, live animal odors
