Job summary

Aerotek in Bellefontaine, OH seeks an Assembly Build Lead for 1st shift to oversee the build of custom engineered equipment. You will guide technicians through mechanical and electrical assembly, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include directing assembly activities, testing, troubleshooting, and coordinating with engineering and management to resolve issues and meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or equipment build environment.
• Proven experience leading equipment builds or production teams, including directing technicians and coordinating tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining quality and deadlines.
• Solid understanding of pneumatic systems and mechanical fitment for custom tools and equipment.
• Basic familiarity with PLC field devices, sensors, I/O blocks, and automation hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Strong organizational skills to manage build schedules, punch lists, and documentation.
• Clear and professional communication skills for cross-departmental coordination and customer interactions.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Leadership mindset with a willingness to coach, support, and train technicians.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to quality in assembly and wiring work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assembly of custom engineered tools using drawings and schematics.
• Coordinate and direct technicians to execute mechanical and electrical build activities.
• Communicate resource needs and build status to departments to maintain schedule.
• Test and troubleshoot tools for functionality prior to internal buyoff and shipment.
• Manage punch lists and ensure timely completion prior to customer buyoff.
• Perform formal quality checks to meet internal standards and customer specs.
• Prepare shipments by referencing BOMs and assist in building shipping crates.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and professional shop appearance.
• Collaborate with Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and Project Management to resolve issues.
