Job summary

Sanmina Corporation's Fremont facility seeks an experienced SMT Lead Assembler to oversee surface mount production lines, ensure high-quality PCB assembly, and train operators.

You will set up pick-and-place and reflow equipment, inspect PCBs to IPC-A-610 standards, troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance, and promote safety compliance across the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years SMT assembly experience, preferably in lead/senior role.
• Proficiency with soldering (IPC-J-STD-001) and interpreting schematics/engineering drawings.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise SMT operators, assign tasks, and monitor line efficiency to meet daily/weekly goals.
• Set up and operate screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.

The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Job Purpose

The SMT Lead Assembler oversees surface mount technology production lines, ensuring high-quality PCB assembly through machine setup (pick-and-place, reflow ovens), and operator training, and troubleshooting.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

• Supervise SMT operators, assign tasks, and monitor line efficiency to meet daily/weekly goals.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.


• 3–5 years of SMT assembly experience, preferably in a lead or senior role.


• Proficiency with soldering (IPC-J-STD-001) and interpreting schematics/engineering drawings.


• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.


• Familiarity with MS Office, MES systems (e.g., Factory Logix), and, in some cases, specific machines like Europlacer.


• Must be able to verbally communicate

Salary Range (annual): $49,920 -$58,240 ($24.00 - $28.00 per hour) Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
