Job summary

Sanmina Fremont, a leading EMS provider, seeks an assembly technician to perform a wide range of electro-mechanical assembly tasks for developmental and pre-production projects in a fast-paced facility.

You will work from rough schematics and blueprints, use hand and power tools, and help improve processes while meeting deadlines. English communication, physical stamina to lift up to 20 lbs, and the ability to stand all day are required.

Qualifications

• Requires 1–2 years of production experience.
• High school diploma; college courses preferred.
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand all day.
• Must be able to read and interpret prints.
• Must communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical or electro-mechanical components from schematics and drawings.

The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California's Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

Job Purpose

Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental requirements in pre-production projects. Works from rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.

Nature Of Duties/ Responsibilities

• Must have the ability to perform a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams.
• Must be able to operate hand tools, power tools and material handling equipment as needed
• Initiates process improvements of assigned working area.

Education & Experience

• Requires a minimum of 1-2 years related experience of production and technical knowledge.
• High school diploma and college courses preferred.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 20 pounds
• Able to stand all day
• Able to communicate in English
• Able to use hand tools such as a Electric drivers
• Able to work 40+ a week
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines under supervision
• Read and understand prints and drawings.

Salary Range (annual): $45,760 - $49,920 ($22.00 - $24.00 per hour). Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
