Job description

Lead Assembler Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the day‑to‑day operation by leading and directing a group of assemblers to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedules.
  • Read and follow specifications and other instructions to build and assemble products, examining completed work for defects and verifying conformance to work orders.
  • Provide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and equipment, following prescribed safety procedures.
  • Act as liaison and point of contact for general assembly and quality control questions.
  • Train new employees and instruct all staff on the proper use of equipment and tools.
  • Communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service using strong verbal and written skills.
  • Provide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on‑time delivery and cost.
Education and Experience
  • High School Degree or GED required
  • 5+ years of experience in assembly; leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic assembly required.
  • Lean 101 training preferred; experience in a Lean environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer‑focused mentality.
  • Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed.

  • Must wear personal protective gear most of the day.
