This role requires strong communication, math skills, and the ability to work varied shifts. The position emphasizes safety, coordination of multiple projects, and adherence to project timelines while maintaining accurate time and material records.

Qualifications

• Reading comprehension of simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret bar graphs.
• Typing and using keyboards; familiarity with database software.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep time and material records.
• Willingness to work days, nights and weekends as needed.
• Able to withstand temperature variations.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Strong supervisory and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise 15 to 20 asphalt paving employees.
• Train new crew members.
• Calculate trucks needed based on capacity, distance and productivity.
• Tour job sites to monitor progress and utilization of workers and equipment.
• Coordinate crew activities and study production schedules.
• Maintain daily job costing records.
• Recommend improvements to methods, equipment, and crew performance.
