Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking an Area Superintendent to supervise a specific project area, achieving goals in schedule, budget, safety, quality, and personnel development. You will oversee field engineers and coordinate with trade partners to ensure safety compliance, production, and timely submittals.

The role requires a civil/structural background, 5–6 years on large projects, and a valid driver’s license. Benefits include robust compensation and extensive company programs.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 10 Certification.
• CPR & First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and mentor the company work force in their area.
• Coordinate field construction work through organization and proper planning with trade partners.
• Participate in weekly schedule and management meetings with trade partners.
• Promote and enforce the site-specific safety plan and safety principles.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the owner, architect, engineer and trade partners to ensure quality and service.
• Assist the BIM and VDC engineers in driving issue resolution to keep submittals on schedule.
