Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Hawaii seeks an Area Superintendent to lead a project area, guiding field teams, managing safety, schedule, budget, quality, and personnel development. You will coordinate with engineers, trade partners, and site staff to deliver the project on time and to the highest standards.

This safety‑sensitive role requires a civil/construction background, 5–6 years on large commercial builds, a valid driver's license, and proficiency with Excel templates, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil/structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• 5–6 years’ experience on large commercial projects; valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with Excel templates, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk tools; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and mentor the company work force in their area.
• Coordinate field construction work through organization and proper planning with trade partners.
• Participate in weekly schedule and management meetings with trade partners.
• Promote and enforce the site‑specific safety plan and sound safety principles.
• Review AHAs for trade partners; maintain the four‑week schedule for area.
• Keep accurate cost and production records; ensure quality control on project.
• Develop material handling and site utilization plans for the area.
• Coordinate with engineers on material needs, RFIs and receiving tickets.
