Job summary

WSP is seeking an Architectural Designer/Lead Architect to join our team in the U.S., working on Federal, Industrial, and Research facilities. This role emphasizes ownership of small projects, collaboration with senior staff, and advancement toward architectural licensure while mentoring through ARE progression.

Applicants should bring Revit proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 4–12 years of professional experience in an architectural or multidisciplinary A/E environment.
• Actively pursuing architectural registration and progressing through the ARE exam.
• Demonstrated experience using Revit in a professional setting.
• Experience leading small projects through design and construction phases.
• Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility, and life-safety principles.
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage small projects or discrete components with guidance from senior staff.
• Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, specifications, reports, and other deliverables.
• Support design development, construction document production, and multi-discipline coordination.
• Participate in project meetings, client interactions, workshops, and consultant coordination.
• Perform code analyses, life-safety reviews, and accessibility evaluations under supervision.
• Support quality control reviews and document coordination through all project phases.
• Utilize Revit and other design tools to develop project documentation.
• Support proposals, pursuits, and business development activities as needed.
• Contribute to project schedules, budgets, and objectives.
• Continue professional development toward licensure and leadership.
