Job summary

RK&K is seeking a SOI-qualified archaeological principal investigator in the Southeast region, based in Florida. The successful candidate will collaborate with RK&K archaeologists, architectural historians, and environmental planners across the company.

You will lead Florida investigations, supervise field crews, oversee artifact analysis and report QA/QC, and contribute to NEPA and Section 106 work, with occasional travel. Strong writing, communication, and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field.
• 8–15 years of archaeological experience in Florida.
• 5+ years of field project management experience implementing archaeological work plans.
• SOI-qualified in archaeology and RPA certification.
• Experience with Section 106, NEPA, and Section 4(f).
• Proficient in MS Office; able to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of archaeological investigations in Florida.
• Develop proposals and supervise field staff.
• Oversee artifact analysis and report QA/QC.
• Advise on Section 106 and regulatory requirements.
• Draft Section 106 agreement documents.
• Contribute to NEPA documents and 4(f) evaluations.
• Assist regional planners with business development and client relations.
• Travel as needed.
