Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead multidisciplinary cultural resource projects across the United States and shape development and conservation outcomes. In this strategic leadership role, you will mentor teams, build client relationships, deliver agency-reviewed reports, and expand ERM’s footprint in the cultural resources market.

The role requires a graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, 8+ years of experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology plus 8+ years of related paid experience.
• Ability to obtain archaeological and cultural resource permits.
• Experience as primary author on agency-reviewed technical reports.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to travel within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee literature review, field reconnaissance, field surveys, and excavation for archaeological studies and projects.
• Provide technical consulting skills to support growth of ERM’s business in archaeology and cultural heritage.
• Interact with other ERM practice areas to share multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the country.
• Represent ERM through communications and meetings with state, federal, and local agencies.
• Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire, and mentor personnel for the technical team.
• Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s market share in Cultural Resources.
