Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead complex cultural resource projects across the United States. You will oversee multidisciplinary archaeological studies, guide high-performing teams, strengthen client relationships, and help expand ERM’s presence in the cultural resources market.

The role requires a graduate degree in Anthropology or Archaeology with 8+ years of experience, permits, and proven reporting and business development skills; travel within the US is

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field plus 8+ years of related paid experience
• Strong ability to carry research to completion and obtain regulatory permits
• Experience authoring agency-reviewable technical reports and managing documentation

Responsibilities

• Oversee literature reviews, field reconnaissance, surveys, and excavations for archaeological studies
• Provide technical consulting to grow ERM’s archaeology and cultural heritage business
• Mentor and manage teams; collaborate with other ERM practice areas
• Represent ERM with state, federal, and local agencies and clients
• Prepare proposals and manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
• Lead staff development, client relationship building, and regional project delivery across the US
