Job summary
The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a Lead Aquatics Specialist to supervise the aquatic facility and oversee programs. The role requires a mix of on-deck leadership, lifeguarding, swim instruction, and administrative duties to maintain safety and quality experiences for members.
Responsibilities include staffing coordination, safety compliance, lesson rosters, and coordinating with the Aquatics Director.
Qualifications
- Lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid training required.
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating deck activities preferred.
- Ability to lead by example and train new lifeguards and instructors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible pool deck presence with lifeguarding and swim instruction.
- Complete lesson rosters and coordinate staff shifts.
- Orientate new staff and inform Director about staff certifications.
- Replenish First Aid supplies and administer First Aid/CPR as needed.
- Schedule lifeguards and swim instructors; support audits and registrations.
