Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is seeking a Sr Maintenance and Operations Technician to join the Aquatics Repair team. The role focuses on plumbing maintenance for pools and spray grounds, including renovations and fountain repairs.

Typical daytime hours apply, with possible evenings and weekends as needed. The successful candidate will have at least two years of related experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license for county operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience related to the assignment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NC or SC driver's license; county driving privileges; CDL may be required depending on assignment.
• General knowledge of applicable computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance of aquatic facilities.
• Assist in installation and repair of decorative fountains.
• Assist in trenching to install water or waste lines.
• Operate power mowers, chainsaws, brush cutter, edger and clippers and other maintenance equipment.
• May lead a small work crew or supervise volunteers and part-timers.
