Job summary

SPX Technologies, within the Engineered Air Movement group, seeks a Lead, Applications Engineer to provide technical and people leadership for a team of application engineers supporting the Strobic Air Technologies business.

You will drive engineering excellence, ensure design standards, and collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering to position Strobic Air as a leader in high-performance ventilation solutions.

Qualifications

3–5 years of progressive HVAC, industrial ventilation, or engineered equipment application engineering experience.
Minimum 3 years leading engineering professionals.
Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI).
Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and project specs.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of application engineers through performance management and development.
Establish clear performance expectations for quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, continuous improvement culture.
Serve as the technical expert for complex engineered ventilation applications.
Review and approve application designs and submittals.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and practices.
Partner with Sales to support strategic opportunities.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations.
Support new product introductions and change initiatives.
Develop standardized engineering processes and documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through processes and technology.
Monitor KPIs: Quote turnaround, design accuracy, response time, productivity, quality.
