Job summary

SPX Technologies, a global provider of HVAC and detection solutions, seeks a Lead, Applications Engineer for the Strobic Air Technologies business. You will lead a team of application engineers, delivering innovative customer solutions and engineering excellence.

You will partner with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure designs meet codes and performance expectations, while driving continuous improvement and exceptional customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive HVAC, industrial ventilation, or engineered equipment application engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years leading engineering professionals.
• Strong understanding of HVAC system design, airflow and fan selection, acoustics, CFD concepts (preferred).
• Experience supporting engineered-to-order products and interpreting mechanical drawings and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of application engineers through performance management and career coaching.
• Establish clear performance expectations for quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
• Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, continuous improvement culture.
• Serve as the technical expert for complex engineered ventilation applications.
• Review and approve designs, equipment selections, calculations, and submittals.
• Partner with Sales to support opportunities and collaborate to improve products and customer experience.
• Develop standardized engineering processes and monitor KPIs like quote turnaround and design accuracy.
• Support customers, consulting engineers, contractors, and representatives with technical guidance.
