Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking an Applications Developer/ Software Engineer to join our Virginia team. The role covers full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, and microservices with an emphasis on security, accreditation, and DevOps.

You will lead Agile teams, translate requirements into actionable work, and collaborate across security, operations, and testing to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality software across web and mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience guiding Agile teams in complex projects and delivering cloud-based applications.
• Strong understanding of modern full-stack development and security practices.
• Ability to translate requirements into user stories and technical tasks within Lean Agile processes.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Git and modern DevOps tooling.
• Experience architecting scalable microservices and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary Agile teams through sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily scrums using Jira.
• Translate customer requirements into MVIs, features, and user stories within a Lean Agile framework.
• Design and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure and containerized services.
• Collaborate across security, operations, and testing to ensure delivery and accreditation.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services with Java, Python, and Node.js.
