Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced API and systems integration architect to lead API development within its Enterprise Integration Platform. You will guide design, ensure security, and optimize performance across REST and SOAP services while collaborating with cross‑functional product teams.

You will drive architectural decisions, oversee API lifecycles, and mentor engineers, contributing to continuous delivery and platform governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS or equivalent work experience.
• At least ten years of professional experience in a software development team is preferred.
• Working expertise with MuleSoft.
• Advance experience in designing public and private enterprise secure services using REST based APIs including SOAP based APIs.
• Extensive experience with SOA integration and API management technologies and standards.
• Detailed understanding of API lifecycles.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps practices and methodologies and with Software Development Lifecycle.
• Familiarity with operating systems, tools to test software applications/systems and with development/modeling tools.
• C#, .NET, Java, RDBMS development including T-SQL.

Responsibilities

• Leads in consulting, developing, and improving APIs and systems integrations with the Enterprise Integration Platform (EIP).
• Collaborates with multiple Product Development Teams providing guidance and design for integrations supporting products designed to achieve strategic business outcomes.
• Takes initiative in leading feature and user story development, delegating responsibilities, and collaborating with Product Development Team members.
• Works with Product Development Teams to design, develop, test, document, and deploy solutions on the Enterprise Integration Platform.
• Designs API layers, data models, and specifications.
• Develops APIs utilizing the platform components of the Enterprise Integration Platform.
• Tests and improves performance of the APIs in terms of response time, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Works closely with Product Development Team members to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of architecture, API standards, and governance of the Enterprise Integration Platform.
• Participates in the continuous improvement of the Enterprise Integration Platform’s delivery and operation.
• May act as team mentor in a multi-person development team.
• May oversee and verify the work of engineers or technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of team efforts and results.
