Job summary

Cricut is seeking an accomplished backend engineer to design, build and ship scalable services in a modern cloud environment. You will work on APIs, microservices and AI-enabled tooling, collaborating with product, UX and client engineers to translate features into robust backend systems.

The role emphasizes ownership of observability, performance and deployment processes. A strong background in C#/.NET or Python, plus hands-on cloud and data-store experience, is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years of backend development with production-level expertise in C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core) or Python (FastAPI/Django).
• Experience designing and running backend architectures at scale (microservices or modular monoliths) and with distributed patterns.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL stores and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Spend most of your time writing, reviewing and shipping production backend code.
• Design and build APIs and services end to end, from contract to implementation and release.
• Own service health, observability, and incident response while driving CI/CD automation.
