Job summary

Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company delivering real-time satellite communications through a global network of phased array ground stations. We seek a Lead Hardware Development Engineer to guide antenna system development from architecture through deployment, coordinating mechanical, RF, electronics, embedded software, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical engineering field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in hardware/antenna development.
• Experience owning a hardware product from design through delivery.
• Strong systems-thinking and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical development and execution of a Northwood antenna system from concept through production and deployment.
• Translate product and mission needs into system requirements, architectures, and verification plans.
• Coordinate development across mechanical, electrical, RF, embedded software, thermal, manufacturing, test, and field ops.
• Build and manage development schedules, milestones, and risk-mitigation plans.
• Lead system-level trade studies across performance, design, power, thermal, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and deployment speed.
• Drive prototype builds, system integration, test campaigns, and production-readiness reviews.
• Contribute to design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting within your discipline.
• Provide clear updates to leadership on progress, risks, decisions, and resource needs.
