Job summary

Northwood Space seeks an experienced Senior RF & Antenna Systems Engineer to define phased-array RF architectures for its ground-station network and translate mission requirements into antenna, beamforming, and tracking specs.

You will build end-to-end SATCOM link budgets, evaluate RF front-end performance, and collaborate with RF, DSP, mechanical, and software teams to ensure target link availability and throughput.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with phased arrays or antenna systems.
• Experience in RF communication systems or SATCOM terminals.
• Ability to relate RF performance to link budgets and modulation schemes.

Responsibilities

• Define phased-array antenna and RF-system architectures for satellite ground stations.
• Translate requirements into aperture, RF front-end, beamforming, and tracking specs.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end SATCOM link budgets with measured RF performance.
• Analyze analog, hybrid, and digital beamforming with cross-functional teams.
• Assess impact of RF impairments on EVM, BER, throughput, and link availability.
• Lead investigations of degraded G/T, EIRP, and spectral performance.
• Support regulatory submissions, spectrum coordination, and system acceptance.
