Job summary

Northwood is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive the development of digital compute and power electronics for global antenna deployments. You will lead hardware architecture, design high-speed digital systems, and oversee bring-up on FPGAs and microcontrollers while ensuring reliability, scalability, and manufacturability.

The role emphasizes collaboration with software and production teams, rigorous lab testing, and field validation across worldwide deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in electrical design.
• Experience leading an electrical engineering team in high-stakes environments.
• Proficient in high-density/high-speed design (FPGAs, high-speed data converters, SerDes, 10/100 GigE).
• Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience with troubleshooting EMI/EMC, conducted or radiated.
• Knowledge of PCB materials and stack-up definition.
• Soldering and hot air rework methods.
• Experience with full product lifecycle (concept through production).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system architecture for compute, networking, and power.
• Drive high-speed digital design for RF and mixed-signal PCBs.
• Work with 100G networking and power tree trade-offs.
• Schematic capture, layout, and bring-up on FPGAs and microcontrollers.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize performance.
• Test prototypes and assess field performance.
• Coordinate with production for testable, manufacturable products.
