Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a Lead Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team by preparing equipment and anticipating needs to ensure a safe, smooth patient experience. You will work closely with nurses and staff, and guide the team on new processes and equipment to uphold high-quality care.

In this leadership role, you will train staff, interview candidates, and share updates on procedures while fostering a warm, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years relevant experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
• BLS certification (30 day grace period).
• 2 years relevant experience in acute healthcare or supervisory role.
• Staffing coordinator experience in large medical practice and acute care setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining anesthesia equipment.
• Anticipating needs of anesthesia providers and setting up carts.
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, and monitoring equipment.
• Supporting higher-level anesthesia tasks and emergency responses.
• Maintaining knowledge of procedures, infection prevention, and patient safety.
• Interviewing candidates, training new staff, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
