Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with team leadership or owning a major surface while hands-on.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin-based Android development and modern architecture.
• Experience with MVVM, Jetpack components, and Android lifecycle awareness.
• Proven ability to ship reliable features and lead code reviews.
• Background in testing and quality assurance practices for Android.
• Experience shipping background audio or long-running tasks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end from design to release.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and ensure aligned decisions.
• Refactor and consolidate shared components across the app.
• Drive automated verification and nightly QA readiness.
• Lead planning and prioritize work with Product/Design/Eng.
• Ensure maintainable, well-documented code and tutorials for teammates.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow technical talent.
• Collaborate on AI-assisted design and user experience improvements.
