Speechify is seeking a hands-on Team Lead for Android to own core product work and to raise how the team operates. You'll write code, review PRs, and own features from design through release, shaping the product and architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, with hands-on leadership.
• Proven Kotlin/Android excellence across architecture and UI.
• Experience shipping long-running background work or audio apps.
• Strong testing ethos and how to write reliable tests.
• A track record of team-driven improvements and impact.
• Ability to guide AI-assisted development and team decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own major Android features end-to-end from design to release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and drive efficient decision-making.
• Coordinate with Product, Design, and Engineering early.
• Lead planning and determine review scope for areas of work.
• Deliver nightly builds for QA and ensure smooth releases.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote learning opportunities.
