Job summary

Speechify is seeking an Android Team Lead to own core product work in a hands-on capacity. You will write code, review PRs, and guide features end-to-end, ensuring reliable releases and nightlies.

You will mentor teammates and drive cross-functional planning with Product and Design. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Android engineering, deep Kotlin knowledge, and experience shipping long-running background work such as audio playback.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership of a team or major surface.
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or long-running work is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across Product, Design, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own major Android features end to end, from decision to release.
• Review PRs and mentor teammates to improve code quality.
• Unblock the team and ensure reliable releases and nightly builds.
• Drive planning and cross-team discussions to align on goals.
• Balance speed with quality and foster an open, collaborative culture.
