Job summary

Speechify is a distributed, 100% remote team building the leading text-to-speech tools. We’re seeking a Team Lead for Android who will own core features end-to-end, review code, and mentor others while staying hands-on.

You’ll help improve reliability and drive fast, quality releases across our Android stack. You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering, deliver features end-to-end, and push for AI-assisted improvements in the app.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong Kotlin and Android architecture skills (Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM).
• Experience shipping background audio or long-running tasks.
• Experience building teams that ship usable results.
• Ability to describe team work with AI agents.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design to release.
• Lead, review, and mentor engineers on the Android team.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features.
• Unblock the team and ensure fast, high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering.
