Job summary

IDEAYA Biosciences, a precision medicine oncology company, is seeking a talented analytical chemist to oversee discovery analytical work at our South San Francisco headquarters. This role requires an on-site presence four days per week and close collaboration with medicinal chemistry and cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in analytical chemistry with 5+ years in drug discovery, focusing on HPLC/SFC purification, method development, and CRO management.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or related discipline with minimum of 5 years drug discovery experience.
• Strong expertise in small molecule purification (HPLC/SFC) and analytical method development.
• Experience supervising junior staff and CRO/vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee small molecule analytical chemistry across IDEAYA discovery portfolio.
• Lead purification, structural elucidation, and biophysical property determinations.
• Mentor junior analytical chemists and ensure fit-for-purpose methods.
