Job summary

Weee! is hiring an onsite Ammonia Refrigeration Technician/Engineer in Clifton, NJ to maintain and operate ammonia refrigeration systems, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operation of the facility.

Requirements include a New Jersey Gold Seal Operating Engineer’s license, 5+ years of ammonia/refrigeration experience, and the ability to respond to emergencies. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, 401k, equity, and a monthly stipend.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in ammonia and freon-based refrigeration.
• Experience with screw and reciprocating compressors and HVAC units.
• Ability to respond to emergencies 24/7 including after hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate ammonia refrigeration systems and subsystems.
• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on refrigeration equipment.
• Monitor readings, document operation, and report issues.
• Handle hazardous materials per OSHA/EPA guidance.
• Train staff on SOPs and safety procedures.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and coordinate repairs.
• Ensure safe, compliant operation of all facility utilities.
