Job summary

Pilgrim’s in LaFayette, GA is seeking a Refrigeration Manager to lead the Refrigeration and Boiler Departments at our Prepared Foods facility. You will schedule staff, oversee preventive maintenance, review utilities, and ensure compliant operation under OSHA, PSM and ASHRAE standards.

This role requires 5–10 years in ammonia refrigeration, RETA certification is a plus, and strong leadership with the ability to train subordinates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years in ammonia refrigeration experience.
• RETA certification is a plus.
• Ability to train and supervise subordinates.
• Ability to work well with management personnel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred; flexibility to work all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Schedules powerhouse and refrigeration personnel to maintain the department for optimal facility operation.
• Prepares and supervises preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for systems under powerhouse and ammonia refrigeration.
• Reviews utilities reports.
• Addresses issues that could adversely impact operational performance.
• Ensures OSHA, PSM standards are maintained in a timely and accurate manner.
• Trains personnel in operation of equipment and RETA certification progress for reports.
• Manages and maintains the maintenance budget for refrigeration.
• Ensures all systems comply with OSHA, ASHRAE, and PSM policies and procedures.
• Schedules work crews for 24-hour coverage.
• Oversees projects related to the plant ammonia system.
