Job summary

Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. seeks an experienced maintenance professional to operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia-based refrigeration systems and boiler/hot water plants.

The role requires safe, compliant operation within GMP/PSM guidelines and active participation in team meetings and training. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and 3–5 years of ammonia refrigeration experience, with strong English communication and documentation abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 3–5 years ammonia-based refrigeration operation experience preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and comprehend English; strong documentation and reading blueprints capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate, test, troubleshoot and repair ammonia-based refrigeration and rack systems.
• Operate and maintain boiler and hot water systems; perform PMs on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Follow GMP, PSM and safety rules; maintain documentation (WO's, operation notes).
• Enter data in computer systems (Word/Excel, SAP) and generate reports.
• Participate in team meetings and training opportunities.
