Job summary

West Star Aviation in Perryville, MO is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. You will lead a team of technicians to deliver high-quality workmanship and timely results in a busy hangar environment.

The role demands strong problem solving, FAA compliance, and hands-on experience with airframes and powerplant systems. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in aviation maintenance and 4+ years on program-specific airframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant license required.
• Valid driver's license; passport ideal but not mandatory.
• 8+ years aviation maintenance; 4+ years in program-specific airframes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks with good judgement; involve manager as needed.
• Implement strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Identify opportunities to reduce turn time of aircraft.
• Train/mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure quality.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems including removal/installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshooting and evaluation of systems on the aircraft.
• Inspection and evaluation of aircraft and components; FAA paperwork.
