Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. in East Alton, IL is seeking a Gulfstream Team Lead, Aircraft Maintenance to supervise a skilled service team and ensure timely Gulfstream aircraft maintenance.

You will manage daily technician schedules, uphold FAA safety rules, conduct quality audits, coordinate training, and drive process improvements. Strong leadership and an A&P license are required, with a valid driver’s license and passport preferred for travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• 10 years’ experience on aircraft maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years on program specific aircraft.
• A valid driver’s license and/or passport ideal but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Team management, mentoring, and performance coaching with a focus on aviation maintenance technicians.
• Oversee daily technician schedules; support meeting aircraft deliveries and allocate manpower.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety policies.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to uphold service quality and QA guidelines.
• Coordinate training programs to develop team skills and proficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflows and productivity.
• Oversee tool/equipment maintenance and resource availability for projects.
• Maintain accurate work orders, R&I forms, parts tags, and related documentation.
• Communicate effectively in English.
