Job summary

MetLife, a global leader in financial services, seeks a Lead Architect to enable AI-powered development platforms for citizen developers across the enterprise. You will design platforms, guardrails, and reusable patterns to scale AI safely with governance and transparency.

You’ll partner with architecture, security, privacy, and platform teams to ensure secure, scalable delivery, while balancing ease of use and risk across the organization. This hybrid role requires in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in software engineering or architecture in enterprise environments.
• Experience with AI concepts including agentic AI and AI plugins.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, and secure integration.
• Experience with Claude AI, Copilot Studio, or similar ecosystems.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives with cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design reference architectures and guardrails for AI-enabled development.
• Establish governance-by-design with security and explainability.
• Research and test new AI technologies for agent platforms.
• Participate in Center of Excellence for citizen agent development.
• Partner with engineering, security, and architecture teams to drive adoption.
• Enable reuse through templates and accelerators.
• Promote adoption via training and mentoring.
