Job summary

Allegion seeks a Lead Software Engineer, AI Agents & Orchestration in Carmel, IN to design and operate scalable AI orchestration frameworks across software systems. You will drive multi-model coordination, data pipelines, and governance within a security-critical environment, enabling AI-enabled business outcomes and responsible AI practices.

The role blends AI and data engineering, requiring strong collaboration with enterprise teams, and offers a hybrid work model with in-person collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IS/AI fields.
• 6+ years of experience in data/AI engineering or related roles.
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines and distributed processing.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, APIs and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience deploying RESTful APIs and services at scale.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture for portions of the AI Workload Orchestration Platform.
• Design AI orchestration frameworks coordinating models, agents, tools, APIs, and applications.
• Develop agent-to-agent and human-in-the-loop workflows for complex processes.
• Lead AI context engineering strategies and agent architectures.
• Build reusable orchestration patterns for rapid AI-enabled deployments.
• Design scalable data pipelines for AI, analytics, and workflows.
• Create enterprise data products optimized for AI consumption.
• Implement MLOps, LLMOps, governance, and observability for AI systems.
• Establish Responsible AI guardrails and model risk management.
