Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Manager of AI/ML Engineering for Optum Technology. Remote within the U.S. with in-office requirements for certain hubs as specified. You will lead teams to build, scale, and operationalize AI/ML solutions across the enterprise, leveraging MLOps and responsible AI practices.

You will collaborate with product, data, and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, mentor engineers, and drive architectural quality and engineering excellence at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software, data, or ML engineering.
• 5+ years deploying ML models or AI solutions in production.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or people management.
• 3+ years of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud-native AI/ML frameworks.
• 3+ years implementing MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and model monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI-powered solutions at scale with responsible AI focus.
• Use enterprise AI tools to automate workflows and drive improvements.
• Evaluate trends to inform solution design and innovation.
• Lead teams designing and maintaining scalable AI/ML pipelines and models.
• Establish MLOps for deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to define technical roadmaps and deliver value.
