Job summary

EY is seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of AI-native systems for a single client engagement in highly regulated industries. You will be embedded with the client, remaining hands-on while steering technical direction, tradeoffs, and production readiness.

The role emphasizes strong client presence, accountability for outcomes, and leadership of a small team within the Forward Engineering delivery cell. Hybrid work model and extensive Total Rewards are offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex enterprise systems.
• Hands-on depth across integration-heavy architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with AI-enabled application stacks and LLM-backed services.
• Proven forward-deployed, customer-facing experience owning outcomes.
• Leadership of a small technical team while contributing individually.
• Strong stakeholder management under pressure.
• Understanding of SDLC, quality gates, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end outcome delivery for the cell, including scoping, tradeoffs, technical direction, and production readiness, taking accountability for the business outcome, not just the code.
• Embed directly with the client to define the real problem and translate ambiguous business needs into an executable technical solution under regulatory and environmental constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical interface and trusted advisor to client stakeholders, managing expectations, communicating tradeoffs, and sustaining trust.
• Stay hands-on, designing and building critical parts of the solution, diving deep into client systems, data, and code when needed.
• Deploy, adapt, and stabilize solutions in the client environment with templates and profiles, owning release readiness and runtime accountability.
• Direct the work of the cell’s Implementation Engineer and Data Engineer, ensuring integrations and data readiness form a production-grade outcome.
• Ensure every deployment meets safety, integrity, and cost constraints, partnering with control authorities and the AFE for safe-to-ship decisions.
