Job summary

KeyBank is hiring a hands-on Lead AI Engineer to design, build, and deliver AI-powered conversational IVR and voice bot solutions for the Contact Center Technology organization. This senior individual-contributor role focuses on hands-on engineering, end-to-end delivery, and technical guidance across initiatives.

You will design and develop AI-powered IVR/voice bot systems, lead architecture for AI initiatives, and own delivery from concept to production while ensuring security and regulatory

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in a senior/lead AI role.
• Hands-on AI-powered applications and services experience.
• Proven Node.js and TypeScript development
• Cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with LLMs, conversational AI platforms, and agentic frameworks
• Knowledge of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
• Kubernetes experience including GKE and platform operations
• Experience with IVR/voice bots or contact center tech
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-powered IVR and voice bot solutions.
• Lead architecture and engineering design for AI-driven customer experiences.
• Build Node.js/TypeScript microservices for cloud-native, low-latency needs.
• Own end-to-end delivery from concept to production support.
• Apply agentic AI patterns and integrate LLMs/orchestration frameworks.
• Develop, test, evaluate, and optimize prompts and workflows.
