Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Lead Software Engineer – AI & Agentic Systems to design, build, and deploy AI-enabled solutions for real enterprise use cases. You will translate needs into production-ready software, integrating models, agents, tools, and APIs within scalable cloud architectures.

You’ll lead by example, mentoring teams, shaping engineering standards, and advancing agentic coding practices across delivery workflows in a hybrid onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience in senior/lead roles.
• Strong programming experience in one or more modern languages (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, C#, Java).
• Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting production software.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, integrations, or full-stack features.
• Experience cloud-based applications on Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Technical leadership through design guidance, code review, mentoring, or engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled solutions for real enterprise use cases.
• Translate product needs and requirements into working software with measurable value.
• Design and integrate models, agents, tools, workflows, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Apply emerging AI patterns like agents, tool-calling, MCP, A2A, and context engineering.
• Design cloud-based solutions with scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability in mind.
• Move AI capabilities from concept to production-ready solutions.
• Use coding assistants and agentic coding practices in delivery workflows.
• Establish reusable components and engineering patterns to improve speed and quality.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor teammates, and help set engineering standards.
