Paynada, LLC. seeks a data-science leader to design and drive an AI-powered merchant lead-intelligence platform from research to prototype and testing. You will shape data collection, labeling, and predictive strategies in a founding-level role with substantial autonomy and equity.

You will build lead-scoring, experiment with NLP on calls, and connect insights to external data sources. The role emphasizes practical impact, rapid prototyping, and collaboration with sales leadership.

Qualifications

• Advanced training or equivalent professional experience in data science, ML or related field.
• Experience with predictive modeling, lead scoring or customer analytics.
• Strong Python and SQL capabilities.
• Experience with unstructured text and NLP.
• Familiarity with large language models and their use in information extraction.
• Ability to work with limited historical data and develop data-collection plans.
• Understanding of experimental design and model evaluation.
• Ability to combine qualitative research with quantitative analysis.
• Strong product judgment and interest in building a commercial data platform.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with leadership.
• High standards for confidentiality and data security.

Responsibilities

• Develop the overall research, data and AI strategy for a proprietary lead-intelligence platform.
• Analyze recorded sales conversations using transcription, NLP and human-reviewed research.
• Create a structured framework for extracting merchant information from calls.
• Interview sales leadership to capture domain knowledge not in existing data.
• Design reliable labeling and quality-control procedures for transcripts and outcomes.
• Identify signals most likely to predict meaningful sales progression.
• Develop an initial rules-based scoring model for limited data.
• Progressively develop statistical and machine-learning models as data grows.
• Connect internal insights to externally observable signals for prospecting.
• Design controlled experiments comparing AI-selected leads with current methods.
