Job summary

Lumen seeks a Lead Project Manager to guide large-scale customer deployments from planning through completion. You will be the primary contact, aligning customers, internal teams, and vendors to deliver on time, in scope, and on budget.

This role fits an experienced PM who navigates priorities, anticipates risks, and communicates confidently with technical teams and senior stakeholders, while mentoring teammates and driving PM excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least five years of related experience.
• Experience managing complex customer-facing technology implementations.
• Experience managing fiber delivery projects, with knowledge of OSP/ISP infra construction.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level updates.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with customers and internal partners.
• Six+ years of project management experience (preferred).
• Experience leading multiple complex projects in tech/telecommunications (preferred).
• PMI/PMP or PRINCE2 certification (preferred).
• Experience supporting strategic/global customers with repeat implementations (preferred).
• Experience applying change control, KPIs, and improving PM standards (preferred).
• Understanding of how technology solutions align with business goals (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead highly complex customer implementation projects and programs throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resource requirements, deliverables, and success measures.
• Serve as the primary customer contact, providing updates and maintaining scope alignment.
• Analyze project progress and deliver concise status, risk, jeopardy, and executive reports.
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and schedule changes, escalating issues and proposing alternatives.
• Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to support timely delivery of contracted services.
• Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, and track actions through completion.
• Mentor team members and promote consistent PM practices; identify future sales opportunities.
