JPMorganChase in Jersey City seeks a Lead Software Engineer - AI and Automation to design, develop, and deliver trusted AI-enabled technology in an enterprise setting. You will lead critical engineering efforts across multiple initiatives, driving secure, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes responsibility for the full software lifecycle, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and adopting AI-assisted tooling to improve quality and delivery speed. On-site work in Jersey City is expected.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s): Python, JavaScript/Typescript, Go, or SQL.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies SDLC tools to improve automation and value realization from AI capabilities.
• Owns full software lifecycle for multiple AI initiatives: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Develops services and workflows that integrate with infrastructure platforms and tooling.
• Defines and implements observability, SLOs, alerting, and incident playbooks.
