Are you ready to be a part of an elite team at GDIT, working on a large-scale, pioneering National Intelligence program? This is an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself into an environment that fuses innovation, speed, and security to safeguard our Nation.

At GDIT, you'll thrive in a dynamic and collaborative setting, where your technical skills will be both challenged and expanded. This program offers the chance to engage with cutting‑edge technologies and contemporary development practices in support of a vital mission. You'll play a critical role in addressing some of the most intricate security and operational challenges facing Intelligence and Homeland Security today.

Come join us and contribute to a mission that truly matters, while advancing your career alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What You’ll Achieve

The Lead Agilist plays a strategic, high-impact role at the IDIQ level, embedded within the PMO. You will oversee the operational execution of the agile methodology across all task orders. This person will guide teams in using agile methodologies - someone who applies agility as a mindset, not a framework. In this role, you will:

  • Agile/SAFe Delivery Leadership Across the IDIQ

    • Guide the adoption and consistent application of Agile and SAFe practices across all teams and task orders.

    • Support the PMO and program leadership in establishing and maintaining program‑level Agile constructs (e.g., ART cadence, PI planning rhythm, common definitions of ready/done).

    • Ensure alignment between Agile delivery practices and contract requirements (scope, schedule, quality, reporting).

  • Cadence, Planning, and Execution (Teams and Program)

    • Facilitate or coach core Agile/SAFe ceremonies at the program level:

      • Quarterly Planning events, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt, Scrum of Scrums.

      • Monitor MVI schedules across task orders.

    • Partner with tech leads, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure:

      • High‑quality backlog refinement.

      • Realistic, data‑driven planning based on team capacity and historical performance.

    • Promote predictable, sustainable delivery across sprints and Program Increments.

  • Metrics, Transparency, and Continuous Improvement

    • Define and maintain a consistent set of Agile/SAFe metrics across task orders (e.g., velocity, throughput, cycle time, defect trends, predictability).

    • Ensure teams and leadership have transparent visibility into progress, risks, and impediments through dashboards and regular reviews.

    • Drive inspect‑and‑adapt activities at both team and program level, translating insights into concrete improvement actions.

  • Coaching, Mentoring, and Standards

    • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, tech leads, and team members in Agile/SAFe principles and practices.

    • Develop and maintain program‑level Agile process standards:

      • Definition of Ready/Done.

      • Story and feature sizing approaches.

    • Provide targeted coaching to underperforming teams or new teams ramping onto the IDIQ.

  • Alignment Across Task Orders and Shared Services

    • Ensure each task order’s Agile approach (teams, ceremonies, roles) aligns with the broader program governance model and the customer Agile maturity model.

    • Support integration points between teams (e.g., shared components, cross‑team dependencies, joint releases) so work flows smoothly through the value stream.

    • Partner with Resource Manager to monitor capacity management

    • Oversee team distribution

    • Collaborate with Solution Architect and TO Tech leads, and PMO to align Agile practices with technical architecture and shared platforms.

  • Tooling, Automation, and Workflow Optimization

    • Own the approach to Agile tooling (e.g., Jira, DevOps/etc.) to ensure:

      • Consistent usage and configuration across teams.

      • Traceability from requirements to delivery.

    • Partner with the Solution Architect and Task Order (TO) Tech leads to streamline workflows (e.g., automated build/test/deploy pipelines aligned to Agile practices).

    • Identify and implement process and tooling changes that reduce waste and improve flow, in line with the program’s efficiency goals.

  • Customer and Stakeholder Engagement on Ways of Working

    • Help explain Agile/SAFe approach, cadence, and metrics to customer stakeholders and align expectations around iterative delivery.

    • Support preparation for customer reviews, demos, and status reports by translating Agile outcomes into business‑relevant progress.

    • Work with program management to ensure contractual reporting reflects Agile delivery while remaining compliant with customer requirements.

  • Impediment Management and Risk Support

    • Identify cross‑team impediments and systemic blockers impacting delivery; work with PMO (program manager/deputy program manager, and functional partners) to resolve them.

    • Support program risk and issue management by surfacing delivery risks early and proposing mitigation strategies tied to Agile ways of working.

    • Coordinate with security, operations, and other stakeholders when process or tooling changes are needed to improve flow.
